Senior Project Manager (Mission Critical / Data Centers)

Location: Grand Rapids, Michigan; location is flexible based on candidate qualifications and project needs, with travel as required. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States.

What you will do

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex mission critical and data center construction projects from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
• Define project scope, objectives, staffing, work plans, schedules, budgets, safety, quality, logistics, and commissioning goals.
• Manage communication with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, vendors, and trade partners.
• Oversee procurement, bid packages, contract negotiations, project documentation, change management, and subcontractor performance.
• Maintain client relationships, support business development and project pursuits, and build partnerships across the data center industry.
• Develop high-performing teams through supervision, coaching, mentoring, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• At least 10 years of commercial construction experience with progressively increasing project leadership responsibilities.
• At least 5 years managing mission critical, data center, advanced technology, semiconductor, industrial, or similarly complex construction projects.
• Experience leading large-scale projects from preconstruction through commissioning and turnover.
• Strong understanding of electrical distribution, generators, UPS systems, cooling infrastructure, commissioning, and startup processes.
• U.S. work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience with hyperscale, colocation, enterprise, or cloud data center clients.
• OSHA 30-Hour Certification and First Aid/CPR certification.
• Experience with Procore, Primavera P6, BIM coordination platforms, and related construction technologies.
