Claims Representative - Crop - Field

Location: USA Remote; must live in or around Mercer, Henry, or Rock Island counties in Illinois

Salary: $55,200–$75,900 base pay range, plus eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Review crop insurance policies, determine coverage levels, explain claims procedures, and contact clients within 24 hours of receiving a claim.
• Schedule and perform field inspections, determine causes of loss, evaluate damage, calculate claim payments, and issue settlements.
• Adjust Federal Crop claims exclusively in the American Farm Bureau Insurance Services CAP estimating system.
• Communicate and negotiate with insureds, claimants, insurance carriers, and other parties involved in claim investigations and settlements.
• Support audits, bin measurements, drone flights, training, compliance activities, and meeting presentations.
• Maintain relationships with agencies and Illinois Farm Bureau managers across the assigned territory.

Requirements

• 4+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Federal Crop Certification required for P2–P4.
• Ability to climb and/or walk through fields in all weather conditions and lift at least 10 lbs.
• Ability to travel with overnight or extended stays as needed and work beyond normal hours when required.
