Processing Operator (Food Manufacturing)

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; onsite

Salary: $21.40 per hour, paid weekly

What you will do

• Operate processing and baking equipment to produce food products according to quality and safety standards.
• Mix ingredients, follow recipes and batch sheets, weigh raw materials, and monitor temperatures, moisture, mix times, and product weights.
• Make process adjustments, identify improperly formed products or foreign matter, and escalate quality issues.
• Start up, shut down, and change over equipment while performing sanitation and preventive-maintenance procedures.
• Move and manage raw materials using forklifts or pallet jacks, maintain material levels, and track waste.
• Follow safety, hygiene, housekeeping, chemical-handling, and personal-protection procedures; mandatory overtime may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of production experience in a manufacturing environment.
• At least one year of industrial food manufacturing experience involving ingredients, measurements, and processing equipment.
• Attention to detail, mechanical ability, and the ability to multitask.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, including communication with team members and leadership.
• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift heavier loads with assistance; standing, walking, and climbing steps are required.
• Ability to work around moving mechanical parts, heat, humidity, noise, dust, fumes, and potentially caustic chemicals.

Nice to have

• Certified Production Technician certification.
