What you will do

  • Complete mechanical design for projects of average complexity with limited supervision, from project start through Construction Administration.
  • Design HVAC systems, including split and packaged heat pumps, hydronic systems, steam and condensate systems, and constant- and variable-volume air distribution.
  • Design plumbing systems including medical gas, hot and cold water, waste and vent, and compressed air systems.
  • Develop performance drawings and specifications for wet- and dry-pipe fire protection systems.
  • Apply code requirements, coordinate across disciplines, perform self-quality control, and seek peer review.
  • Support construction through RFIs, meetings, submittals, site observations, reports, field investigations, and record drawings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering or architectural engineering.
  • 2–8 years of experience.
  • Ability to work with Revit, Microsoft Office, and an HVAC load analysis program such as HAP or TRACE.
  • Ability to drive to project sites and perform customary field work; a valid driver’s license is required.
  • Must be able to work in the United States.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, independent-working, and teamwork skills; willingness to work over 40 hours when required to meet project deadlines.

Nice to have

  • Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
