Fab Metrology and Yield Engineer (Semiconductor)

Location: Beaverton, Oregon, United States; onsite, day shift

Salary: $115,800–$151,935 per year, depending on experience, skills, and background.

What you will do

• Define, own, and continuously improve metrology, inspection, and yield-monitoring capabilities within the fabrication facility.
• Lead installation, qualification, recipe development, and production release of automated optical inspection tools.
• Own optical microscopy platforms for defect review, root cause analysis, and engineering decisions in development and high-volume production.
• Manage profilometry and surface-metrology systems for film thickness, topography, and critical surface-feature measurements.
• Own the tool set and process used to form and measure MEMS probe tips.
• Analyze inspection and metrology data to identify yield limiters, defect trends, and process excursions while coordinating with integration, yield, process engineering, and equipment maintenance teams.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree, 6 years with a master’s degree, 3 years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
• Experience with automated optical inspection, optical microscopy, surface metrology, profilometry, and flying probe operations.
• Knowledge of data analytics, statistical analysis, process control, SPC, DOE, and structured problem solving.
• Ability to operate and support equipment in compliance with EHS regulations, cleanroom protocols, and equipment safety requirements.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and technical writing/documentation skills.
