Spanish Operational Language Analyst

Salary: $49,996.80–$290,004.00 per year

What you will do

• Process voice and graphic foreign-language materials in support of SIGINT operations.
• Translate, transcribe, and gist Spanish materials into clear, idiomatic English.
• Identify and extract essential elements of information.
• Support mission reporting through accurate and timely language analysis.
• Use standard tools and databases for analysis and reporting.
• At more senior levels, perform quality control, mentoring, and advanced analysis of complex language data.

Requirements

• US citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph are required at all levels.
• High School Diploma or GED for OLA Level 1; Associate’s Degree or 2 additional years of experience for Level 2; Bachelor’s Degree or 4 additional years of experience for Levels 3 and 4.
• ILR Level 2 in audio and/or text translation within 2 years for Level 1; ILR Level 3 within 2 years for Levels 2 and 3; ILR Level 3 in both audio and text translation within 2 years for Level 4.
• Level 1: 2 years of cryptologic language processing experience, including at least 1 year of translation, transcription, or gisting as primary duties.
• Level 2: 4 years of cryptologic language processing experience, including at least 2 years of translation, transcription, or gisting as primary duties; no more than 1 year of reporting as a primary duty; 2 years within the last 4 years.
• Level 3: 10 years of combined relevant experience, including at least 6 years in cryptologic language processing and in the required language, plus at least 1 year of quality control at ILR 3; recency requirements apply within 6 years.
• Level 4: 15 years of combined relevant experience, including at least 8 years in cryptologic language processing and in the required language, plus at least 3 years of quality control at ILR 3; recency requirements apply.
• One year of typing on an English keyboard is required at every level.
