Quality Control Manager (Solar Construction)

Location: Pekin, Illinois, United States. Full-time, on-site role. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Salary: $100,931–$121,118 per year.

What you will do

• Lead quality control programs, processes, and procedures for assigned utility-scale solar construction projects.
• Review project-specific quality control and management plans for partners and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with contracts, specifications, and industry requirements.
• Identify high-risk work scopes such as pile, racking or tracker, module, electrical interface, material receiving, and turnover activities.
• Perform inspections, witness tests, first-work inspections, and material verifications against approved submittals and acceptance criteria.
• Investigate defects and non-conformances through root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
• Maintain quality records, track KPIs, prepare reports, train teams, and mentor Quality personnel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering, plus 4–6 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• Experience as a quality control manager, supervisor, or similar construction quality professional, preferably in utility-scale solar, renewable energy, civil, electrical, mechanical, or heavy construction.
• Knowledge of solar construction methods, specifications, submittals, installation tolerances, and quality acceptance criteria.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings and use measurement tools such as tape measures and micrometers.
• Analytical, mathematical, organizational, communication, negotiation, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Procore, Excel, Bluebeam, Sunscreen, Outlook, and Word.
