Senior HRIS Manager (Workday)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; hybrid work with office attendance Monday through Thursday and remote or office work available on Fridays

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 annually, plus discretionary annual bonus. The stated range applies to roles performed in Chicago.

What you will do

• Define and execute the global HRIS strategy and technology roadmap aligned with business priorities.
• Lead Workday configuration, upgrades, releases, production support, security, and continuous optimization.
• Direct HRIS initiatives, integrations, data sharing, and process improvements across Benefits, Payroll, Talent, Finance, and other functions.
• Build HR reporting, dashboards, and analytics while maintaining data governance, audits, controls, and automation.
• Support salary reviews, bonus planning, pay equity analysis, and compensation budgeting through HR systems and data.
• Lead and mentor the HRIS team and manage stakeholder communication, training, and change adoption.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in HRIS, Human Resources Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of progressive HRIS experience focused on systems strategy, implementation, and administration.
• Proven experience leading Workday configuration and optimization in a complex, global environment.
• Leadership, collaboration, communication, stakeholder management, and talent development skills.
• Expertise in data governance, analytics, business requirements translation, and confidential HR information management.
• Must not currently or in the future require employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience with HRIS integrations after acquisitions, including employee data migration and system configuration.
• Experience administering HRIS across multiple countries and adapting to different regulatory and operational requirements.
• Experience with EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, APIs, and Advanced, Matrix, or Composite Reports.
• Experience supporting base compensation, bonuses, and equity programs within HR technology platforms.
• Master’s degree.
