Optometric Technician (Optical Care)

Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Full-time, onsite position.

What you will do

• Provide high-quality patient care and maintain a professional doctor’s office and pretest room.
• Explain preliminary examination procedures and complete required paperwork.
• Perform pre-screening and testing before the doctor examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings for eligible patients.
• Review prescriptions and patient information, identify special needs, and coordinate with opticians, doctors, and retail management.
• Maintain doctor and pretest equipment and learn relevant ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge and explain instructions clearly and concisely.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, multitasking, and time-management skills.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
• Previous retail or optical experience is preferred but not required.
