TL;DR

Location: Full-time onsite role in San Diego, California, United States

Salary: $91,080–$113,850 per year

What you will do

  • Prepare, review, and file U.S. sales and use tax, excise tax, property tax, and other indirect tax returns across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Reconcile tax accounts, support monthly and quarterly closes, process tax payments, and maintain registration, licensing, and exemption certificate records.
  • Research taxability issues and advise Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Procurement, Sales, Finance, Legal, and HR on tax matters.
  • Support state and local tax audits by gathering data, preparing responses, coordinating negotiations, and identifying opportunities to reduce tax risks.
  • Maintain tax procedures, controls, legal entity records, compliance calendars, SOX documentation, and audit-ready files.
  • Support K-1 and unit holder filings, tax distributions, equity processes, entity changes, tax planning, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Five to seven years of experience in tax, accounting, or legal work in a public accounting firm or public company environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and familiarity with tax software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, recordkeeping, problem-solving, and time-management skills.

Nice to have

  • CPA or another professional license.
  • Residence in the San Diego area.
