Global Information Security Architect (Cloud Security)

Location: Remote within British Columbia, Alberta, or Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 149,750–165,000 per year

What you will do

• Define, maintain, and govern the global security architecture framework across processes, data, people, and technology.
• Lead security architecture for cloud migration and modernization initiatives across Google Cloud Platform and Microsoft Azure.
• Design cloud-native security controls, Zero Trust models, secure Kubernetes and containerization strategies, and API security frameworks.
• Partner with Engineering, DevOps, Project Managers, Solution Designers, and technical teams to embed security and privacy into solution designs and CI/CD pipelines.
• Establish security guardrails for Generative AI and Large Language Model adoption, and review emerging technologies.
• Identify architectural gaps, lead security tool implementations, maintain technical documentation, and conduct security assurance and compliance reviews.

Requirements

• 10–15 years of progressive cybersecurity experience, including at least 7 years in security architecture and experience leading large-scale cloud migrations.
• Deep expertise in Zero Trust architecture and identity-centric security models.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• CISSP, CISM, or an equivalent certification.
• Strong knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, TOGAF, or SABSA and cloud cybersecurity reference architectures.
• Expertise in vulnerabilities, OWASP Top 10, exploitation techniques, API security, Docker, Kubernetes, and container security.

Nice to have

• Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer or Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Cybersecurity Reference Architecture and Google Cloud Security architecture.
