Information Security Advisor (Cybersecurity)

Location: North York, Ontario, Canada; hybrid work between home and the office

Salary: CAD 65,000–105,000 per year

What you will do

• Conduct information security risk assessments for initiatives, applications, cloud-based technologies, and third-party suppliers.
• Review contracts and security clauses to ensure appropriate information security requirements are included.
• Advise business and technology groups on security controls, policies, directives, and security best practices.
• Report assessment status, identified risks, and current activities to management.
• Provide preliminary recommendations for information security risks and track remediation plans and target dates.
• Collaborate with Business, Architecture, Infrastructure, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Privacy teams.

Requirements

• University degree or college diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Security and Risk Management, or comparable training.
• At least 5 years of experience in Information Security and IT.
• In-depth knowledge of information security and IT principles, protocols, practices, and industry standards.
• Experience conducting risk assessments for cloud-based SaaS technologies, including AWS and Azure.
• Strong communication, negotiation, report-writing, and contract interpretation skills.
• Reliability Status Clearance is required before starting employment, including a law enforcement inquiry and credit check.

• Professional information security designation such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, or CISA.
