Senior Plumbing / Fire Protection Engineer

What you will do

• Lead plumbing and fire protection engineering projects from concept through construction.
• Design domestic water, sanitary and storm drainage, natural gas, compressed air, standpipe, and wet, dry, pre-action, and special-hazard fire suppression systems.
• Perform engineering calculations, hydraulic analyses, system sizing, modeling, and code compliance reviews.
• Prepare construction documents, technical specifications, engineering reports, and cost estimates.
• Conduct field investigations, existing-condition assessments, and construction support activities.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, owners, agencies, and other stakeholders while mentoring engineers, designers, drafters, and BIM staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of progressive experience designing plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial, institutional, industrial, municipal, transportation, educational, or government facilities.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit.
• Experience with hydraulic calculations, system modeling, technical specifications, reports, construction documents, and cost estimates.
• Knowledge of applicable plumbing, fire, mechanical, and building codes.
• Strong communication, coordination, client-facing, project leadership, and mentoring skills.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license, particularly Pennsylvania licensure or eligibility through reciprocity.
• CPD, NICET, or LEED AP credentials.
• Experience with MicroStation, Bentley OpenBuildings Designer, or related Bentley 3D applications.
• Experience with transportation, municipal, industrial, healthcare, education, state agency, or government facility projects.
