RF Wireless Engineer (Contractor) (WiFi/IoT): Developing and integrating wireless connectivity for smart security products across 802.11 WiFi, 802.15.4, Thread, Z-Wave, and other radio technologies with an accent on RF circuit design, antenna tuning, and MAC/PHY validation. Focus on debugging wireless firmware, optimizing impedance matching and RF performance, and resolving integration issues involving desense, EMI, power consumption, and spurious emissions.

What you will do
- Bring up, debug, validate, and optimize 802.11 and 802.15.4 MAC and PHY layer drivers and firmware.
- Design, tune, and optimize antennas for WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, GNSS, cellular, and other wireless technologies.
- Perform impedance matching, antenna tuning, efficiency optimization, TRP/TIS characterization, and RF debugging.
- Develop and review RF PCB layouts, including stack-ups, controlled-impedance routing, grounding, shielding, and antenna keep-outs.
- Collaborate with firmware, SQA, and ODM teams to achieve product performance targets.
- Resolve customer and production issues, including desense, EMI, spurious emissions, in-band noise, ESD, and current-consumption problems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering and approximately 5 years of industry experience in circuit-level RF design and wireless performance testing.
- Experience with WiFi, IoT, and LTE RF circuit design, system integration, and testing.
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, including impedance matching, transmission lines, S-parameters, and antenna matching.
- Knowledge of 802.11 physical-layer behavior and experience designing and validating test cases for 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/ah.
- Ability to use laboratory equipment, soldering stations, and microscopes for detailed assembly, rework, and replacement of SMT components as small as 0201.
Nice to have
- Experience designing and integrating 802.15 IoT radio circuits, including Sub-GHz, Zigbee, Z-Wave, and Thread.
- At least 3 years of experience in high-volume, low-cost consumer electronics with 6–12-month product development cycles.
- Experience integrating antennas into small consumer electronic devices.
