Senior RF Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Englewood, Colorado, USA. US citizenship required.

Salary: $130,000–$185,000 per year, depending on qualifications, plus eligibility for a year-end bonus.

What you will do

• Design front-end RF signal-chain circuits, oscillators, distribution networks, and digitizer assemblies for space vehicle communication and signal analysis systems.
• Create sampling and frequency-conversion plans for multi-GHz instantaneous-bandwidth signals.
• Integrate RF circuits and digitizers with existing FPGA-based DSP functions.
• Establish technical requirements, conduct trade studies and design reviews, and coordinate delivery across multidisciplinary project teams.
• Verify designs through laboratory measurements, worst-case RF circuit analysis, PCB layout support, and hardware troubleshooting.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor less experienced RF engineers, prepare reports and presentations, and support customer discussions and proposals.

Requirements

• BSEE or equivalent degree and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of RF circuit theory, transmission lines, oscillators, clock circuits, sampling, and digital RF signal processing.
• Experience designing RF receiver and transmitter circuits, low-phase-noise clock and local-oscillator generation and distribution circuits, and RF circuit boards.
• Experience with schematic capture, commercial RF EDA tools, and 3D electromagnetic field modeling tools.
• Experience performing multi-GHz RF verification measurements using VNAs, spectrum analyzers, vector signal analyzers or sources, and phase-noise analyzers.
• Must be a US citizen. Excellent communication and presentation skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Siemens Xpedition, Cadence or AWR Microwave Office, Keysight ADS, and Ansys SIwave or HFSS.
• Experience designing direct-sampling or frequency-converting digital RF systems.
