Senior IREG & Network Test Engineer (NTN)

Location: Hybrid in Espoo, Finland; remote arrangements may be available for candidates elsewhere in Europe

What you will do

• Define IREG test strategies, pass/fail metrics, network tracing protocols, and partner MNO sign-off processes.
• Execute end-to-end roaming validation covering registration, attach, S6a/S6d authentication, SGd SMS-over-NAS, IP NIDD, and roaming approval.
• Run GSMA roaming tests and develop custom validation cases for non-terrestrial networks.
• Build and maintain automated telecommunications test harnesses and lab environments integrated with regression testing.
• Analyze Diameter, SS7, device, and network traces to isolate issues across hirify.global, IPX, and MNO domains.
• Manage defects through root cause analysis, remediation, retesting, and coverage and market-readiness reporting.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in roaming validation, mobile core operations, interconnect routing, IREG testing, or telecommunications network testing.
• Strong knowledge of Diameter routing, SS7/MAP, S6a/S6d, SGd, and roaming authentication and registration flows.
• Advanced Wireshark and multi-party protocol troubleshooting experience.
• Experience designing automated telecommunications testing frameworks with Python or comparable languages and modern CI/CD practices.
• Fluency with IR.21/RAEX profiles, PLMN structures, IMSI records, and TADIG codes.
• Experience with NB-IoT, NTN architectures, NIDD data paths, cellular device labs, IMSI tracing, Jira, Confluence, and TAP/BCE billing verification.
