Sr. Field Adjuster, Homeowner Claims

Location: Remote, based in Columbus, Ohio or surrounding areas; local travel is required.

Salary: $38.88–$51.88 per hour, depending on work location, experience, and education; eligible for an annual discretionary bonus of up to 10% of eligible pay.

What you will do

• Investigate and evaluate moderate-to-high-severity homeowners’ property loss claims in the field and virtually.
• Meet with insureds and third parties to photograph and inspect damaged dwellings, structures, and personal property.
• Determine repair scopes and prepare estimates using the Xactimate system.
• Negotiate agreed repair costs with insureds and network or independent contractors.
• Investigate causes of loss, complete coverage analysis, and settle eligible property damage claims.
• Coordinate independent adjuster assignments when required and maintain regulatory-compliant claim files.

Requirements

• 6+ years of related professional experience, including 4+ years of claims experience, preferably with homeowners’ claims.
• High school diploma required; a related bachelor’s degree may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.
• Knowledge of Xactimate repair estimating and homeowners’ policies and procedures.
• Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record, or alternative transportation suitable for carrying large or heavy equipment between sites.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States; visa sponsorship and future immigration support are not available.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of field experience.
• Knowledge of home construction.
