Strategic Buyer - Raw Materials

What you will do

• Analyze spending, operational needs, markets, and procurement risks for assigned raw-material categories.
• Develop and implement short- and medium-term sourcing strategies aligned with global objectives.
• Manage the procurement cycle from demand definition through tenders, quotations, negotiations, and contract management.
• Negotiate supplier agreements and monitor performance, compliance, contractual obligations, and deadlines.
• Build relationships with internal customers and current and prospective suppliers, including regular site visits.
• Provide savings analyses, recommendations, reports, and support for finance and cross-functional purchasing initiatives.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in procurement or a relevant field.
• Education in business administration, commerce, finance, engineering, or a related discipline.
• Excellent negotiation skills and good knowledge of relevant markets.
• Bilingual French and English communication skills required for interaction with internal customers in Canada and the United States.
• Knowledge of data-management and performance-analysis tools, including Excel and Power BI.
• Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
