Sr Biochemistry Scientist (Genomics)

Location: Madison, Wisconsin, United States; onsite

Salary: $91,100–$136,700 base salary per year, plus eligible bonus or commission, equity for eligible roles, and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, characterize, validate, and transfer biochemical and enzymatic assays supporting manufacturing operations.
• Operate, maintain, and train colleagues on fragment analyzers, microplate readers, HPLCs, PCR systems, and Tape Station units.
• Prepare method-transfer documentation and lead transfers to internal and external laboratories while ensuring reproducibility and GMP compliance.
• Process and statistically evaluate experimental data, interpret results, and prepare technical reports, presentations, work instructions, and SOPs.
• Collaborate with Quality Control, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Process Development, and global partner sites.
• Investigate technical issues, identify process gaps, propose data-driven improvements, and support sustaining activities.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant industry laboratory experience in biotechnology, biomedical, biochemical, or pharmaceutical environments.
• Advanced HPLC experience, including method development, optimization, and assay validation.
• Expertise in enzymatic assays and biochemical characterization techniques.
• Strong laboratory, organizational, research, problem-solving, reasoning, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, collaborate across functions, learn quickly, and take initiative.
• Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 4+ years, or PhD with 2+ years preferred in biochemistry, chemistry, biology, or a related field.
