Salary: $78,700–$196,800 annual base pay

What you will do

  • Lead laboratory automation solutions for new product development and process improvement projects involving genomic technologies.
  • Develop, optimize, and support validation of molecular assays covering DNA sequencing, amplification, genotyping, gene expression, and nucleic acid extraction.
  • Build and sustain integrated workflows using liquid handlers, automated freezers, tube infrastructure, APIs, LIMS, ELN, and scheduling or orchestration software.
  • Provide subject-matter expertise across molecular biology, oncology, immunology, microbiology, and human genetics workflows.
  • Create and review experimental designs, protocols, validation plans, procedures, technical documents, and reports.
  • Research emerging technologies, troubleshoot complex systems, assess risks, train users, mentor technical professionals, and coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree or equivalent education in cell biology, molecular biology, cancer biology, pharmacology, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be accepted.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques, high-throughput DNA sequencers, genotyping platforms, and real-time PCR equipment.
  • Experience developing and validating automated molecular assays and optimizing DNA and RNA extraction for liquid and tissue specimens.
  • Experience with APIs, system integration, LIMS and ELN connectivity, scheduling or orchestration software, Python-based automation, and digitally integrated laboratory workflows.
  • Strong scientific leadership, communication, risk assessment, troubleshooting, technical decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of companion diagnostics, design controls, clinical laboratory assay development, or CLIA environments.
  • PhD in a relevant field.
  • Experience with biostatistical software and biological databases such as NCBI, PubMed, Entrez, EMBL, and Sanger resources.
