Principal Backend Software Engineer (Go)

What you will do

• Lead the architecture, development, and implementation of scalable, maintainable backend systems for the Transaction Tribe.
• Design reusable services, APIs, and shared backend modules used across multiple products.
• Collaborate with product, UX, and frontend teams to support customer acquisition, retention, and engagement initiatives.
• Monitor, tune, and optimize system performance, availability, latency, databases, caching layers, and message queues.
• Integrate security, data protection, and compliance capabilities into backend architecture.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship while driving backend innovation and engineering best practices.

Requirements

• 10+ years of backend engineering experience with scalable, complex systems and distributed, service-oriented architecture.
• Strong expertise in backend programming languages and frameworks, preferably Go, together with system design, APIs, and microservices.
• Experience operating high-performance, highly available systems with databases, caching, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and backend deployment workflows.
• Expertise in concurrency, distributed computing, database optimization, performance tuning, debugging, and reliability engineering.
• Ability to guide engineering strategy, lead technical initiatives, and mentor backend engineers across teams.
