Lead Software Engineer, Backend (Go)

Location: Onsite in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

What you will do

• Own technical problem spaces across the product lifecycle, including API development, database design and management, data visualization, frontend development, and CI/CD.
• Design and build Go services to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency.
• Design, build, analyze, and fix large-scale distributed systems.
• Perform capacity planning, performance analysis, tuning, optimization, and root cause investigations.
• Collaborate with product, experience, infrastructure, and engineering teams on feature specifications, architectures, and scalable backend services.
• Participate in code reviews and on-call rotations while providing technical guidance and mentorship.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience in a distributed systems environment.
• Strong foundations in algorithms and data structures.
• Understanding of system performance and scaling.
• Programming experience in any language and willingness to work with Go.
• Passion for building products, features, and platforms that accelerate business growth.
