Senior Process Engineer (Process Control & Process Safety)

Location: Madrid, Spain 28001

Employment: Full time; salaried exempt position under Plug NL standard contract conditions.

Develops PEM electrolysis-based hydrogen generation systems and electrolyzer solutions.

What you will do

• Specify, design, integrate, and provide ongoing technical support for process equipment, process control, and safeguarding systems.
• Develop process design bases, control and safeguarding philosophies, PFDs, P&IDs, Cause & Effect diagrams, and control and safeguarding narratives.
• Participate in design and safety reviews, including P&ID, 3D model, HAZOP, and LOPA reviews.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, legislation, customer specifications, schedules, and cost requirements.
• Coordinate with process engineers in global offices, external engineering parties, clients, and suppliers.
• Mentor team members, review supplier quotations, identify technical risks, and maintain accurate engineering documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or relevant professional experience.
• 5–10 years of experience in process engineering.
• Specialization in process control or process safety.
• Knowledge of international codes and standards, including CE, IEC, and API.
• Knowledge and experience with control and safeguarding logic and applicable functional safety standards.
• Work location: Madrid, Spain; exempt employees may be required to work more than eight hours per day or 40 hours per week when necessary.
