Systems Engineer (Functional Safety)

What you will do

• Develop system requirements, architectures, functional decompositions, and requirements traceability across the product lifecycle.
• Coordinate requirements, implementation, and verification with hardware, firmware, software, mechanical, quality, and product teams.
• Define functional safety requirements, safety concepts, diagnostics, and safety-related architectures.
• Perform FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, DFA, reliability, failure-rate, and SIL/PL-related safety calculations.
• Ensure alignment with IEC 61508, ISO 13849, machinery safety, product safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Support third-party assessments, certification activities, safety documentation, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in systems engineering, embedded systems, functional safety, or product development.
• Professional experience with requirements management tools and system-level product development.
• Experience with functional safety at application or end-product level, preferably in robotics or automation, including IEC 61508 and ISO 13849.
• Knowledge of electronic design and embedded hardware and software development.
• Full professional proficiency in English is required.

Nice to have

• TÜV Functional Safety Engineer certification or equivalent.
