Location: Remote - CA, with hybrid work and required onsite presence at project job sites. Frequent travel and extended project-site assignments are expected.
Salary: $110,632–$138,290 per year
Work authorization: Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Provides infrastructure services for utility-scale solar, battery storage, and high-voltage substation projects, including design, construction, and maintenance.
What you will do
- Own commissioning scopes across typically 2–3 concurrent HV or BESS projects, managing deliverables, milestones, resources, risks, documentation, and turnover.
- Develop commissioning execution plans, readiness criteria, schedules, resource forecasts, test procedures, and acceptance requirements.
- Lead pre-commissioning, cold, warm, and hot commissioning, including functional, protection and control, communications, synchronization, utility capability, performance, and acceptance testing.
- Coordinate field commissioning teams, OEM advisors, third-party testing providers, subcontractors, utilities, owners, engineering, construction, quality, safety, and operations stakeholders.
- Manage troubleshooting, deficiencies, corrective actions, retesting, reporting, change impacts, and commissioning closeout documentation.
- Coordinate energization, switching, LOTO, tagging, grounding, permit-to-work, operational authority, and safe turnover to owners and Operations and Maintenance teams.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in commissioning, startup, testing, construction, operations, or project delivery for utility-scale electrical facilities, including substantial HV substation or BESS experience.
- Strong knowledge of HV and MV electrical systems, protection and control, SCADA and communications, electrical testing, switching, grounding, LOTO, and energized-work controls.
- For BESS assignments, knowledge of batteries, PCS/inverters, transformers, EMS/PPC/SCADA controls, auxiliary systems, and fire and life-safety interfaces.
- Ability to interpret contracts, technical specifications, IFC drawings, electrical diagrams, control narratives, relay documentation, OEM manuals, and interconnection requirements.
- Experience managing scope, schedule, resources, risk, stakeholders, costs, changes, issues, and project documentation across complex workstreams.
- Valid driver's license, ability to satisfy project access requirements, and ability to work varied hours and on active project sites.
Nice to have
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, project management, or a related discipline.
- PMP, Certified Construction Manager, NETA certification, electrical license, or another relevant technical credential.
- Experience with EPC contracts, utility interconnection, owner or utility witness testing, commercial milestones, and project change management.
- Experience with P6, scheduling, document-control, and project-management systems.
