Solution Architect - Individual Markets (Insurance)

Location: Hybrid schedule with three days per week at a Guardian location in New York, NY, Holmdel, NJ, or Bethlehem, PA; legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Salary: $118,980–$195,465 base pay annually, with potential eligibility for incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Own product- and team-level solution design and delivery architecture within a value stream.
• Design and document application, integration, data, infrastructure, and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Partner with Product Owners, Tech Leads, business stakeholders, Enterprise Architecture, and platform teams to align roadmaps, MVP scope, and technical trade-offs.
• Ensure solutions meet architecture standards, security requirements, design patterns, scalability, and resilience expectations.
• Lead proof-of-concepts, resolve technical dependencies and delivery impediments, and provide hands-on guidance on design quality and technical approaches.
• Mentor engineers, reduce technical debt, improve delivery efficiency, and support major-impact production incidents.

Requirements

• Strong experience designing and delivering enterprise-scale technology solutions and documenting product- and team-level technical designs.
• Working knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, data integration, and modern application architectures.
• Experience designing hybrid architectures spanning on-premises systems and public cloud provider services.
• Experience working in Agile or product-based delivery models and balancing speed, quality, risk, and sustainability.
• Experience operating large-scale, business-critical systems in the insurance domain.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship; Guardian does not sponsor employment-based visas.
