CDL Switcher/Shuttler

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; onsite, full-time

Salary: $25.50 per hour

What you will do

• Shuttle merchandise and raw materials between company properties and deliver local backhauls as needed.
• Operate tractor-trailer trucks, straight trucks, forklifts, and floor jacks around shipping, receiving, and dock areas.
• Complete DOT and company-required pre-trip inspections, trip reports, logs, and trailer yard inventory records.
• Inspect dropped trailer loads, secure products, apply trailer seals, and correct discrepancies.
• Maintain dock areas, trailer restraints, exterior equipment, warehouse floors, pallets, and general housekeeping.
• Support product transfers from warehouse racks to trucks and complete other warehouse assignments.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and at least one year of production experience in a manufacturing environment.
• CDL Class A driver's license and DOT Medical Card.
• CDL Tank Vehicle Endorsement, if applicable.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation rules and regulations.
• Ability to operate material-handling equipment and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to work the 6:15 p.m. to 6:15 a.m. shift and perform frequent driving, standing, sitting, walking, pushing, and pulling.

Nice to have

• At least six months of tractor-trailer driving experience.
