AI Application Engineer (AI)

Location: Denver, Colorado, United States. Full-time, onsite role with under 10% travel. Must be eligible to work in the United States and pass comprehensive background and drug screening.

Compensation: $128,260.00–$146,017.59 per year.

What you will do

• Build reviewer-facing applications for document triage, AI recommendation review, annotations, comment logs, evidence links, and override workflows.
• Surface agent outputs, confidence scores, and citations in trustworthy user interfaces while capturing reviewer feedback for model and rule-pack improvement.
• Create Power BI dashboards and executive reporting layers using Databricks SQL Warehouse for throughput, accuracy, time savings, benchmarks, trends, and anomalies.
• Develop documented Gold-layer data products on Unity Catalog and audit-ready Excel, Word, and linked-evidence outputs.
• Design APIs and integration patterns that connect platform outputs with enterprise systems and business workflows.
• Work directly with business users and cross-functional partners to research needs, iterate quickly, and create documentation, training, and onboarding materials.

Requirements

• 5+ years building data-intensive applications, internal tools, or production data products.
• Full-stack capability with modern web frameworks such as React or Vue, Python or TypeScript, and SQL.
• Production experience with a BI or reporting tool, preferably Power BI, and strong SQL with Databricks SQL Warehouse, dbt, or equivalent lakehouse modeling.
• Experience shipping internal tools adopted by real users and improving them through observed behavior and feedback.
• Experience designing accurate, clear reporting for executive stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure, including Power BI, SharePoint Online, Azure App Services, and Entra ID; bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Power BI Data Analyst Associate or Databricks Data Analyst Associate certification.
• Experience with document-heavy UX, PDF viewers, annotation tools, evidence linking, and comment logs.
• Experience presenting LLM outputs through confidence scoring, override flows, and citation interfaces.
• React, TypeScript, embedded analytics, or experience in construction, real estate, data center, or AEC industries.
