Data Engineer

Location: Budapest, Debrecen, Pécs, or Szeged, Hungary. Remote work is available only within Hungary due to European taxation regulations.

What you will do

• Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines and integrations across databases, APIs, streaming platforms, and NoSQL systems.
• Design data warehouses, data lakes, models, schemas, and scalable storage solutions for large-scale analytics.
• Implement data quality, validation, cleansing, harmonization, governance, security, and compliance practices.
• Automate, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize data workflows and infrastructure for reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, stakeholders, and international partners on electronic road-tolling solutions.
• Contribute to technology selection and the development and operation of intelligent, kilometer-based tolling systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, natural sciences, mathematics, business, or equivalent IT experience.
• Strong expertise with Delta Lake, SQL, Python, Tableau, QuickSight, Kafka, Apache Flink, Apache Doris, Superset, and Schema Registry.
• Experience with MongoDB Atlas, Debezium, Kafka Connect, CDC, real-time data streaming, and diverse data-source integration.
• Knowledge of AWS compute and storage, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, data architecture, and infrastructure automation.
• Understanding of RBAC, IAM, encryption, anonymization, GDPR, and CCPA compliance.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, plus proficiency in Jira and Confluence.

• Experience working in a SAFe environment.
• German language knowledge.
