TL;DR
Data Engineer (AWS, Azure, GCP) (Cloud Data Engineering): Building production data pipelines and data products across AWS, Azure, and GCP with an accent on cloud architecture, database engineering, and scalable data processing. Focus on advising clients on cloud ingestion methods, solving complex data problems, and aligning architectural decisions with business needs.
Location: Chicago, Illinois, USA; onsite work at a client location or office may be required, with remote work available when compatible with client and company needs
Salary: $90,000–$200,000 per year

What you will do
- Develop production data pipelines and data products using AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Advise clients on technologies and methodologies for efficient cloud-based data ingestion and processing.
- Design and implement data architecture solutions that maximize the value of client data.
- Solve complex data engineering problems using engineering best practices.
- Collaborate with end users, developers, business analysts, architects, and clients.
- Explain architectural alternatives and their advantages and disadvantages.
Requirements
- Experience delivering solutions on a major cloud platform.
- Experience designing and implementing data architecture solutions.
- Production database experience, including substantial SQL expertise, database administration, and scripting data pipelines.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver production data pipelines or other data products through professional, academic, certification, bootcamp, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to connect architectural recommendations with business needs and client culture.
- Applicants must be authorized to work directly for any employer in the United States without visa sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Experience with Python, Java, R, C#, C++, or C.
- Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Redshift, Aurora, Presto, BigQuery, or Oracle.
- Experience with Git, Docker, Subversion, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Spark, Databricks, Kafka, Kinesis, Hadoop, Lambda, or EMR.
- Relevant AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud certifications.
