AWS Data Engineer

Location: New Jersey, United States — onsite hybrid. The conditions also list New York.

Base compensation: $80,420–$106,050 per year, with possible additional variable compensation.

What you will do

• Design, implement, optimize, and maintain scalable data architectures using AWS S3, Redshift, Glue, Athena, EMR, and DynamoDB.
• Build batch and real-time ingestion pipelines for structured and unstructured data using Glue, Lambda, Kinesis, or Kafka.
• Develop Spark-based data transformation workflows with AWS EMR, Glue, Python, or Scala.
• Build and manage data lakes on S3 and data warehouses on Redshift or Snowflake, including schema, partitioning, compression, and performance optimization.
• Automate data workflows and infrastructure with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, and monitoring tools.
• Apply AWS security and governance practices while collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• Experience designing and implementing AWS-based data architectures and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Experience with Spark, AWS EMR or Glue, and Python or Scala.
• Knowledge of data lakes, data warehouses, metadata cataloging, data lineage, and analytics data optimization.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as CodePipeline, CodeBuild, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
• Knowledge of CloudFormation or Terraform and AWS monitoring, security, and governance services.
• Ability to work onsite in a hybrid role in New Jersey, United States.
