Healthcare Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Remote, anywhere in the continental United States. Some travel, up to 10%.

Salary: $110,000–$140,000 per year, with potential bonus eligibility and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop, maintain, and scale predictive, statistical, and machine learning models for healthcare and drug management initiatives.
• Analyze pharmacy claims, medical claims, and other complex healthcare datasets to identify trends, outliers, cost-management opportunities, and insights that improve health outcomes.
• Prepare, clean, transform, and validate data for analytics, reporting, dashboards, and model development.
• Write clean, reusable, and testable analytical code using SQL, Python, or R; maintain reference tables and product datasets.
• Support AI roadmap initiatives, reporting automation, reusable analytical workflows, and model-related processes.
• Collaborate with clinicians, consultants, analysts, product leaders, data engineers, and other stakeholders to define requirements and communicate findings.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in data science, analytics, statistics, healthcare analytics, informatics, or a related analytical role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience with healthcare, pharmacy/PBM, medical claims, financial, or similarly complex data.
• Working knowledge of SQL and proficiency with Python or R for data analysis, statistical modeling, machine learning, or automation.
• Understanding of statistics, predictive modeling, supervised and unsupervised learning, regression, classification, clustering, forecasting, and model evaluation.
• Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders, work independently, and collaborate across functions.

Nice to have

• Experience with healthcare cost, utilization, clinical, pharmacy, PBM, or drug management analytics.
• Exposure to time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, natural language processing, or AI-enabled reporting.
• Knowledge of data privacy, data governance, HIPAA considerations, and secure handling of sensitive healthcare information.
• Experience with dashboards, reporting automation, reusable analytical workflows, or model deployment.
• Advanced Excel skills or a master’s degree and relevant coursework.
