Lead Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Budapest, Hungary. Remote work is available only within Hungary due to European taxation regulations.

What you will do

• Design and develop Java-based backend microservices for network provisioning and orchestration.
• Build scalable, resilient distributed systems supporting 5G, FTTH/FTTC, IP Transit, and machine-to-machine workflows.
• Implement REST and event-driven communication and integrate complex business and network management systems.
• Model and optimize PostgreSQL databases and contribute to CI/CD pipelines and containerized environments.
• Modernize legacy telecommunications platforms into distributed architectures.
• Provide technical mentoring and participate in software architecture reviews.

Requirements

• Strong experience developing Java applications and microservice architectures.
• Expertise in RESTful API design and event-driven communication.
• Solid PostgreSQL experience, including data modeling, queries, and optimization.
• Ability to design and review architectures for distributed systems.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Leadership experience and the ability to guide development teams; willingness to integrate AI solutions for process and workflow optimization.
