TL;DR
Lead Software Engineer (Java): Leading the development of protective services for abuse and fraud prevention within the global ticketing ecosystem with an accent on scalability, resiliency, and architectural improvements. Focus on designing clean APIs, optimizing performance for high-revenue streams, and coordinating globally distributed engineering teams.
Location: Remote (Must be based in the United Kingdom)

What you will do
- Lead the development and delivery of the Abuse and Fraud Prevention product portfolio to protect significant annual revenue.
- Design scalable, resilient systems and lead architectural improvements across global services.
- Write exemplary code and own the full development and deployment cycle.
- Coordinate efforts across globally distributed software teams and report progress to stakeholders.
- Debug and triage complex production issues and automate testing, deployments, and recovery.
- Mentor and grow developers in their technical craft.
Requirements
- Demonstrable experience in lead engineering and development roles.
- Strong backend skills with Java 17+ or other JVM languages.
- Proficiency with Springboot and designing clean, scalable APIs.
- Experience with AWS and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of TDD, CI/CD practices, Design Patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Experience working in SOA environments with databases like Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
Nice to have
- Experience with DevOps, Terraform, and Helm.
- Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk.
- Experience with Databricks or Spark.
- Experience with distributed systems and high-availability services.
