Senior Engineer - Test Development (NVMe)

Location: Daily onsite presence at the San Jose, California office in the United States

Salary: $138,000–$206,000 USD per year, plus incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Develop black-box functional test coverage and test methodologies for NVMe SSDs.
• Debug and triage failures, reproduce issues with the firmware team, and design and run experiments.
• Analyze customer field issues and improve functional test coverage where gaps are identified.
• Guide the automation team and integrate test coverage into the existing framework.
• Work with local US and international customers and OEMs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience or master’s degree with 3+ years of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field.
• Strong programming and scripting skills with Python, Bash, and Linux shell scripting.
• Knowledge of NVMe, PCIe, NAND Flash, FTL, enterprise storage/server systems, and Linux.
• Experience with storage test tools, performance benchmarks, I/O stress tools, protocol certification, test execution, and bug management tools.
• Hands-on experience in embedded software or firmware development/testing and with PCI protocol analyzers.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in local and globally distributed teams.
