Sr. Software Engineer - Middleware (.NET)

Location: Hybrid in Oak Brook, Illinois, United States

Salary: $85,500–$162,975 per year, plus benefits, 401(k) contribution, and eligibility for a short-term incentive plan.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain middleware and development platforms supporting myQ residential and commercial products.
• Translate product requirements into technical requirements and collaborate with Product Owners, architects, engineers, QA, Operations, and Customer Service.
• Assess, scope, and manage code-base changes for new business requirements, product enhancements, and other change requests.
• Design and develop reusable software while contributing to technical discussions, design reviews, pull requests, and communities of practice.
• Lead offshore engineering teams in feature development and technical-debt reduction.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote coding standards, security requirements, and software quality practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of job-related software engineering experience.
• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum.
• Experience with the Microsoft technology stack, including .NET, C#, Azure, SQL, and Visual Studio.
• Experience with Git, NoSQL databases, messaging systems, technical documentation, CI/CD, and deployment processes.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, SOLID, RESTful services, dependency injection, cloud development, debugging, and technical problem-solving.
