Location: Hornell, New York, United States; full-time work at a client manufacturing site, with support for rail vehicle programs across the United States and internationally.

Salary: $88,649–$100,737 per year

What you will do

  • Conduct daily inspections at contractor production facilities and review rail car systems and quality programs.
  • Perform supplier audits and prepare reports for program management and clients.
  • Support First Article Inspection, source inspection, rail vehicle testing, and test witnessing activities.
  • Evaluate assembly methods, welding processes, electrical systems, corrosion protection, climate chamber testing, and subsystem quality.
  • Prepare weekly program status reports and support client requirements across major rail vehicle programs.
  • Apply rail vehicle safety practices and relevant FRA and AAR requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in rail vehicle manufacturing and inspection.
  • ASQ Certified Welding Inspector certification or an equivalent qualification.
  • Technical school or community college education, or equivalent job experience.
  • Experience with rail vehicle systems, quality assurance, quality control programs, and related activities.
  • Knowledge of rail vehicle assembly, production equipment calibration and control, AWS welding standards, electrical testing, corrosion evaluation, and testing programs.
  • Familiarity with FRA and AAR requirements for rail vehicle maintenance and overhaul.
