Medical Device Engineer (Drug Delivery)

What you will do

• Lead complex drug delivery and combination product programmes from concept through industrialisation.
• Provide senior technical leadership across engineering, usability, risk, and manufacturability.
• Contribute hands-on to concept generation, mechanical design, technical reviews, and supporting analysis.
• Define requirements, risk-reduction plans, test strategies, and technical evidence for decision-making.
• Oversee project delivery, planning, financial control, and technical risk management.
• Build client relationships, support proposals, mentor colleagues, and contribute to team development.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Significant experience in medical device and/or drug-device combination product development.
• Strong background in drug delivery devices and patient-facing combination products.
• Expertise in mechanical design, actuation, injection moulding, tolerancing, and design for manufacture.
• Understanding of assembly, sterilisation, industrialisation, requirements management, design controls, risk management, verification, validation, and testing.
• Strong leadership, client engagement, project delivery, and written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Electro-mechanical engineering experience.
• Experience taking products through transfer toward manufacture.
• Future interest in line management responsibility.

Hiring process

• Two 60-minute competency and/or technical interviews.
• Final 60-minute meeting with a PA leader, including a mini case study and discussion of client-centricity.
