Location: Remote - CA, with required onsite presence at project job sites throughout testing and commissioning. Travel and extended out-of-town stays are expected as project needs dictate. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.
Salary: $95,272.00–$119,089.00 per year.

What you will do
- Manage project commissioning teams and coordinate activities with engineering, construction, quality assurance, OEM suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Develop commissioning plans, procedures, milestone and deliverable lists, resource plans, and integrated P6 testing schedules.
- Manage pre-commissioning, cold, warm, and hot commissioning tests for BESS, HV, and PV plant systems, including synchronization, functional, utility capability, and project acceptance testing.
- Support energization and MVAC and auxiliary power switching activities, including switching plans, grounding, safety tagging, lockout/tagout, red rope, and work permit programs.
- Identify technical issues, recommend corrective actions, review test results, and prepare daily commissioning reports.
- Track project timelines, resources, lessons learned, and equipment warranties while improving commissioning standards and processes.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience testing and commissioning utility-scale electrical systems.
- Knowledge of electrical power systems, inverters, transformers, electrical infrastructure, HV and MV switching, grounding, and LOTO procedures.
- Experience managing project teams and coordinating multiple stakeholders and OEM suppliers.
- Knowledge of substation protection and control systems, SCADA, DC systems, fiber testing, and utility-scale solar component testing.
- Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, IEEE, IES, API, NETA, safety, and environmental standards.
- Ability to work onsite throughout commissioning, travel as required, and work near medium and high voltage.
Nice to have
- Working knowledge of NERC compliance and ISO and TSO testing and operational requirements.
- Familiarity with DCS and SCADA control systems for utility-scale generation.
- Experience with microprocessor protective relay testing.
