Intern, Private Equity

Location: Tokyo, Japan; office attendance required when business needs arise, with home working possible when appropriate

Salary: ¥1,300 per hour plus transportation expenses capped at ¥50,000 per month

What you will do

• Support daily workflows, including quarterly performance data maintenance, portfolio monitoring commentary, meeting minutes, database updates, and meeting coordination.
• Assist with primary fund investment and co-investment projects.
• Draft investment memoranda and create NB models.
• Prepare PowerPoint and Excel materials for fundraising and marketing activities.

Requirements

• University or graduate student status is required.
• Business-level English and Japanese are required for email communication and preparing meeting minutes; native Japanese is not required.
• Basic understanding of corporate finance and accounting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Strong communication skills, teamwork, and compliance with ethical and professional standards, including confidentiality.
• Applicants must already have the right to work in Japan without current or future sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Prior internship experience in the financial industry.

Culture & Benefits

• Long-term engagement of six months or more is preferred.
• Standard working hours are 8:40–17:10 on weekdays.
• Average overtime is 0–20 hours per month.
• Social insurance and employment insurance may apply for five-day full-time schedules.
• Transportation expenses are covered via the most economical route, up to ¥50,000 per month.
• No visa or housing support is provided.
