Investment Principal (Private Equity)

What you will do

• Source direct-investment opportunities by expanding professional networks, facilitating introductions, and gathering market intelligence.
• Monitor regional capital-market activity, with a particular focus on Japan, and maintain a pipeline of potential investments.
• Evaluate businesses and markets, interpret financial statements and legal documents, and support investment decisions.
• Assist with negotiation and transaction execution, including private placements, equity-linked securities, and Third Party Allotment processes.
• Build relationships with executives, bankers, advisors, and other counterparties while preparing marketing and educational materials for senior executives.
• Monitor portfolio-company developments and support position management after investment.

Requirements

• Bilingual Japanese and English
• 5+ years of experience in investment banking, hedge funds, or related roles.
• Capabilities with Bloomberg, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to analyze data and carefully interpret financial statements and legal documents.
• Proven experience advising on deal sourcing, negotiation, and execution.
• Pragmatic, flexible, mature, and confident communication style, with strong judgment and time-management skills.

Nice to have

• Direct experience with private placements and equity or equity-linked securities.
• Experience or demonstrated interest in technology, biotech, or another high-growth industry.
