Program Manager, Power Grid Automation

G&W Electric develops engineered electrical power grid solutions and manufactures equipment for the power industry.

What you will do

• Coordinate engineering workload, order intake, project ownership, milestones, and status across concurrent Power Grid Automation projects.
• Own the master schedule and capacity view, identify conflicts and at-risk milestones, and propose resource allocation plans.
• Develop and interpret KPIs covering on-time delivery, cycle time, backlog, and utilization.
• Lead process-improvement initiatives with Application Engineering, Operations, and Aftermarket Support to reduce rework and improve delivery quality.
• Standardize workflows, templates, checklists, documentation, and project-management tools, including platform selection and configuration.
• Facilitate kickoffs, status reviews, closeouts, cadence meetings, issue resolution, and cross-functional escalations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering management, operations, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of program or project coordination, operations, or process-improvement experience, preferably in an engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment.
• Ability to organize technical teams, manage concurrent projects, resolve competing priorities, and drive process improvement independently.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration, facilitation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
• Expert knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project, plus proficiency with project or portfolio tracking tools such as Smartsheet.
• Ability to travel occasionally, approximately 15–25%, including occasional weekends when needed.

Nice to have

• PMP or equivalent project/program management certification.
• Lean Six Sigma certification or demonstrated continuous-improvement experience.
• Experience with SharePoint, Salesforce, and JDE.
• Familiarity with the power and utility industry or electrical equipment manufacturing.
