Program Manager, Distribution Engineering (Hybrid Schedule) (Electric Utilities): Directing engineering programs and projects across their full lifecycle, from application through testing and closeout, with an accent on regulatory compliance, resource coordination, cost forecasting, and stakeholder management. Focus on developing operational-readiness plans, analyzing project metrics and estimates, supporting regulatory proceedings, and delivering projects within mandated timelines and budgets.

Location: Hartford, Connecticut, United States. Hybrid schedule requiring at least three days in the office, including Tuesdays and Wednesdays; availability to work up to five days in the office may be required. Travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire is required as necessary.

Annual salary: $122,360–$135,960, plus potential incentive compensation.

What you will do

  • Direct and plan engineering programs and projects with minimal supervision.
  • Manage projects through the complete lifecycle, from application to final testing and closeout.
  • Coordinate studies, resources, schedules, project costs, and customer expectations.
  • Develop tactical plans supporting operational readiness and compliance with state and federal energy regulations.
  • Track department goals, service-level metrics, project data, estimates, and cost forecasts.
  • Provide regulatory and legislative support, including responses to interrogatories and witness testimony when required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science, Business, or Engineering.
  • Minimum of eight years of directly related experience.
  • Knowledge of electric power system operations, utility regulation, and applicable governmental and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work at least three days per week in the Hartford office and up to five days when business needs require it.
  • Ability to travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire and participate in emergency restoration assignments.

  • MBA or master’s degree in Engineering.
