Principal Storage Architect (Cloud Storage)

Location: Secaucus, New Jersey, United States; onsite

Salary: $148,125–$246,875 per year, plus potential bonus

What you will do

• Architect and deliver storage solutions that balance performance and cost for large cloud-provider customers.
• Engage HDD, SSD, RAID, HBA, JBOD, chassis, and port-expander vendors to develop optimized and validated solutions.
• Coordinate vendor engagements with storage product managers and support business objectives.
• Assess current offerings, identify roadmap gaps, and develop next-generation storage product roadmaps.
• Monitor DAS, SAN, NAS, NAND-based, PCIe-connected, and cold-storage solutions; create collateral and train sales teams.
• Run storage benchmarks and collaborate with quality and reliability engineers to evaluate field performance and new vendor offerings.

Requirements

• BS in computer, electrical, or software engineering with 12+ years of experience, or an MS with 10+ years of experience.
• Hands-on experience with storage benchmarks such as Orion, IOMeter, and SPC.
• Ability to interpret benchmark results and optimize for IOPS, latency, and other customer-defined performance metrics.
• Experience architecting cloud-based storage solutions and assessing technology, reliability, and cost.
• Experience working with globally dispersed teams and adapting to changing business requirements.
• Strong storage-community network and relationships are highly desired.
