What you will do

• Lead performance definition, analysis, and optimization for next-generation SSD and SoC platforms.
• Architect and model interfaces between SoC hardware, firmware, and NAND subsystems, including data paths, command handling, and QoS mechanisms.
• Define performance targets and develop simulation-based and analytical system-level models for real-world SSD workloads.
• Analyze firmware execution pipelines and hardware offload opportunities to improve latency, IOPS, throughput, and power efficiency.
• Lead bottleneck analysis, performance triage, and validation correlation across hardware, firmware, NAND media, simulation, and silicon.
• Partner with SoC, firmware, NAND, validation, and product engineering teams while providing technical mentorship and thought leadership.

Requirements

• M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in SSD, SoC, or storage system architecture, with leadership in performance design and analysis.
• Deep knowledge of SoC microarchitecture, CPU subsystems, DMA, cache hierarchy, memory controllers, and QoS mechanisms.
• Expertise in SSD firmware and hardware interactions, command-processing pipelines, and NAND flash translation layers.
• Strong proficiency in performance modeling, profiling, and analysis tools, plus knowledge of the PCIe/NVMe protocol stack and host-storage interfaces.
• Ability to identify and resolve system-level bottlenecks across SoC and firmware layers and lead cross-functional technical efforts.

Nice to have

• Experience with CXL, UCIe, chiplet-based storage architectures, or ARM and RISC-V cores.
• Familiarity with machine-learning-based performance prediction and workload characterization.
• Hands-on experience with SystemC, gem5, or equivalent SoC simulation environments.
• Experience communicating technical subjects to executives and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
