Data Storage Architect

Location: 100% remote within the United States

Salary: $140,000–$155,000 annually

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and operate enterprise storage foundations for compute, virtualization, database, and Kubernetes workloads.
• Manage block, file, and object storage across data center, edge, and cloud environments.
• Engineer and automate heterogeneous storage platforms using scripting, Ansible, Terraform, and REST APIs.
• Optimize storage performance, capacity, data protection, and cost.
• Troubleshoot issues across storage, network, and host layers.

Requirements

• At least five years of enterprise storage engineering experience; six or more years is listed for the position.
• Deep expertise in NetApp ONTAP or Pure Storage FlashArray/FlashBlade, plus production-scale Ceph experience.
• Strong knowledge of SAN, NAS, and object storage protocols.
• Experience integrating storage with VMware and Kubernetes using CSI.
• Strong scripting, automation, performance, capacity planning, cost optimization, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Must be a U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, EAD holder, or H-1B transfer candidate.

Nice to have

• Vendor certifications such as NCDA, NCIE, or Pure Storage certifications.
• Experience with hybrid-cloud storage replication and software-defined storage platforms beyond Ceph.
• Experience with petabyte-scale object storage.
• Exposure to AI/ML workloads with extreme I/O requirements.
