BSN Instructor - Med Surg-Full Time

Location: Porterville, California, USA; campus-based position at Sierra View Medical Center

Salary: USD 115,000–125,000 annually

What you will do

• Deliver medical-surgical nursing education in skills lab and clinical settings according to the established curriculum.
• Plan and supervise student clinical experiences in assigned healthcare facilities, including day, evening, and weekend rotations.
• Observe, instruct, and evaluate students against clinical learning outcomes, providing timely performance feedback.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, skills check-offs, student records, and requested program outcome data.
• Coordinate clinical assignments to meet student and facility needs and submit required program reports.
• Participate in faculty meetings, committees, curriculum improvement, and ongoing student communication.

Requirements

• Valid, unencumbered California Board of Registered Nursing license required.
• Eligibility for California BRN approval as an instructor in medical-surgical nursing or another listed nursing specialty required.
• Master’s degree with coursework in nursing, education, or administration and academic preparation for the teaching subject; BSN candidates currently enrolled in a Master’s program may be considered for a Clinical Teaching Assistant role.
• At least four years of registered nursing experience, including one year within the last five years, with direct patient-care experience and current clinical competence.
• Expertise in medical-surgical nursing or another listed area, including mental health, geriatrics, pediatrics, labor and delivery, community health, or critical care.
• One year of nursing-course teaching experience or completion of a course including nursing-teaching practice is preferred.
