Specialist, Investment Operations (Private Asset Servicing)

Salary: CAD 70,000–85,000 per year

What you will do

• Support the full operational lifecycle of private investments, from onboarding, closing, and funding through repayments, interest payments, amendments, restructurings, transfers, and corporate actions.
• Own or support assigned issuers and assets, tracking asset-level activity, open items, follow-ups, and servicing requirements.
• Review credit agreements, confirmations, capital call notices, amendment documents, agent notices, and related transaction documentation.
• Translate legal and economic terms into system setup, operational workflows, monitoring activities, and servicing actions.
• Prepare and review private asset trades and funding activity in IBOR or applicable systems, validate funding requests, and coordinate liquidity checks.
• Investigate cash, position, trade, transaction, income, and static data breaks while supporting reconciliations, month-end close, audits, controls, and process improvements.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in investment operations, asset servicing, middle office, fund accounting, or a related role; exposure to private or alternative assets is preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of private securities trade and servicing lifecycle events, including closing, funding, booking, interest, repayments, amendments, restructurings, transfers, and ongoing servicing.
• Experience with transaction documentation, reconciliations, break investigation, data accuracy, controls, and auditability.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to collaborate with Legal, Accounting, Investments, Trade Operations, administrators, custodians, agents, counterparties, and service providers.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment, escalate issues, and provide clear recommendations.

Nice to have

• CFA, CPA, or CAIA designation.
• Exposure to Aladdin, WSO, Clearwater, DUCO, Power BI, Power Query, or other data and reporting tools.
• Experience with private asset structures, legal documentation, operational controls, and servicing best practices.
