Staff Software Engineer (GenAI)

Location: Oak Brook, Illinois, United States; full-time onsite role. Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.

Salary: $133,783–$228,241.50 annual base pay, plus benefits, 401(k) contribution, and short-term incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Architect and build LLM-based agents that integrate with external tools, APIs, and real-world systems.
• Develop AI features including video-based search, chatbot interfaces, AI-generated insights, backend pipelines, and APIs.
• Design multi-agent architectures with role-based coordination, reasoning, planning, and long-term memory retrieval.
• Build, test, and optimize agent pipelines using LangChain, LangGraph, CAMEL, and related orchestration frameworks.
• Drive tooling, infrastructure, observability, scalability, and production readiness across AI systems.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across product, engineering, and AI research teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years working with LLMs or agentic AI systems.
• Demonstrated experience building LLM-powered agents that interact with external tools and APIs.
• Strong Python programming and production software development skills, with experience in backend technologies, REST/gRPC APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience with agent orchestration, RAG, memory systems, vector databases, cloud-native development, MLOps, and model deployment pipelines.
• Ability to work onsite in Oak Brook, Illinois, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI infrastructure, prompt engineering, LLM fine-tuning, autonomous systems, virtual assistants, or cognitive agents.
• Video intelligence systems or computer vision experience.
• Experience in IoT, software services, video, AI, consumer electronics, or smart home products.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
