Senior Software Engineer – AI Tools | Data Engineering | Experienced Hire

Location: New York, New York; onsite

Annual base pay: $225,000–$250,000, plus discretionary bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and implement autonomous AI agents that execute multi-step workflows across internal systems.
• Build and productionize retrieval-augmented generation architectures using structured, permissioned data sources.
• Develop agent memory, orchestration layers, inter-agent communication, and tool schemas.
• Implement safeguards against hallucination, prompt drift, context-management issues, and rate limits.
• Partner with developers, quants, and traders to identify automation opportunities and deploy solutions.
• Evaluate and integrate emerging models, agent frameworks, and open-source AI tooling.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of software engineering experience.
• Production experience building AI-powered applications, automation platforms, or agentic systems.
• Expert-level Python, including asynchronous programming, typing, packaging, and testing best practices.
• Experience building AI agents that interact with APIs, tools, codebases, and shell environments.
• Strong knowledge of RAG patterns, vector databases, and frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.
• Strong system design skills and experience securely handling sensitive or proprietary data.
